About the Project
Galaxy Ghost Recon is a UI/UX project I undertook in my final year of university to build my portfolio. I decided to go down this route as I realised I had a passion for UX design and wanted to become more familiar with prototyping and UX principles.

I decided to create a UI for a non-existent game from scratch as a challenge. I am very proud of the solutions I came up with and the final result. I may decide to continue with this project to give the design more of an in-game feeling rather than just a prototype, and attempt to implement this into a game engine.
To begin, I created the basics of the game design by randomly selecting the perspective, theme, and genre from pre-selected categories. This resulted in a third-person, space-themed stealth game.

With this information I investigated games from similar themes and genres, including Dead Space, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, and Dishonored. By investigating these games, I analysed their use of their in-game HUD and menu systems to acknowledge common themes and assets used.

I called back to my HCI project, and created user personas to devise user goals, user experience goals, and usability engineering goals to refer back to while prototyping to ensure I am meeting these goals.

I made initial wireframes using Photoshop and turned these into prototypes in Figma, streamlining any user processes and fine tuning any quirks which were present in the wireframing stage. The prototype for this can be found above.
